The Army Medical Specialist Corps (SP Corps) would like to extend an invitation to our sister services/civilians who are serving as Occupational Therapists, Physical Therapists, Dietitians, and Physician Assistants to attend our annual Colonel Mary Lipscomb Hamrick (SP Corps) Research Course. This course is designed as a scientific forum to educate SP Officers on the broad competencies for planning and conducting research. Subject matter experts will provide lectures and lead discussions on research development, reference management, data analysis using SPSS, securing external funds, publishing and presenting research findings, and SP research strategies to meet Army objectives in reducing and treating injury. Additionally, this course will provide an environment for the exchange of research ideas and findings in preparation for research projects in clinical practice. The course is being offered Monday, April 25th to Friday April 29th 2011 at The Crowne Plaza, 1111 NE Loop 410, San Antonio, Texas.
SP Corps Long Term Health Education and Training selectees and SP Corps Active Duty Officers will have priority for the forty (40) seats available. In order to apply:
  1. Complete attached registration form
  2. Prepare a short summary paragraph describing your interest in research (i.e. research question ideas). If you are a civilian please address how your training may be of benefit to the U.S. government.
  3. Submit both of these items to CPT Tamara Osgood, information listed below or fax to 210-221-8360.
